Apply
We are thrilled you are considering applying to The Bement School. Below you will find information about the required steps necessary to apply to Bement. If you are applying to more than one school, we recommend that you complete the Standard Application Online (SAO). As Bement continues to respond to the current COVID pandemic, we are continuing two changes for the 2022-2023 application cycle (to welcome students for the 2023-2024 academic year) that are intended to ensure fairness, access, and greater convenience for applicants and their families.
We would prefer to meet candidates and their families in person, and we are hopeful that pandemic conditions will improve to the point that this will once again be possible for all applicants. For the present time, however, we invite families to schedule interviews/screenings if you are able to visit campus in person or schedule via Zoom with our office for a virtual interview/screening if you are unable to travel to Bement. In addition, we understand that arranging for testing is more challenging at this time. Testing remains optional. Students are welcome to submit SSAT scores but they will not be required. If a student has had a WISC evaluation done in the past, we request that a copy of the evaluation be submitted with their application. An application, application fee, interview or screening, transcripts, and current teacher recommendations are required for a student's application to be considered complete.
Day student applicants should submit applications by February 1. Subsequent to that date, applications will be considered on a rolling basis dependent on space availability. Applicants who meet the February 1 deadline will receive notification of admission decisions on or by March 10.
Domestic boarding applicants are considered on a rolling basis.
International applicants who would like to be considered in the first round of decisions should complete their applications by December 15. Subsequent to that date, international boarding student applications will be considered on a rolling basis dependent on space availability. All applicants interested in boarding must submit an application and application fee prior to scheduling an interview.
The Admission Committee looks for students who will benefit from and who will contribute to the life of the school.
We are happy to help you with the application process. Call the admission office at 413-774-4209 or email admit@bement with any questions.
