Step 3

Applying for Grade 6 to Grade 9
Step 1
Complete our online inquiry form. If you currently have a user account with Bement (current student families, participants in summer programs since 2023, faculty and staff, previously inquired, or alumni of the school), please log into the Admissions Portal to begin a new application. The information you provide will enable us to share with you notices of upcoming events, deadline reminders, and links to current publications.
Step 2
Log in to your Admissions Portal. You will be able to complete and track your application online.
Step 3
Once you have completed the first section of the application: Student Information Form (Bement Admissions Portal) or the Student Biographical Form (SAO) and submit the required application fee ($50 for domestic applicants, $100 for international applicants), email or call to schedule a tour of our campus and interview. We schedule visits Monday through Friday when school is in session. In the event that travel prevents you from coming to campus, interviews may be conducted via Zoom.
Step 4
Applicants are required to submit recent standardized testing scores from within the last 12 months. We prefer the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT). We must receive an official score report. The Bement School's school code is 1570. We will also accept the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) or the WISC-IV.
Students, for whom English is not their first language, must also take and submit results of the TOEFL Junior. For students who have been studying in an international school for several years or attending a school where English is the primary language used in instruction may have this requirement waived. Please contact the Admission Office if you have questions about this requirement.
Step 5
Next, submit all of the remaining application forms and materials. Complete our online application in the Admissions Portal. If you are using the Standard Application Online (SAO), you will be able to track materials submitted through Bement's Admissions Portal. While you complete some items through SAO, in order to complete your application to Bement, you will need to add additional information in the Admissions Portal including Parent Information, Current School, and Languages Spoken.
If you are applying for financial aid, there is a separate application process. You must complete the online financial aid application through Clarity by February 1.
The Admission Committee looks for students who will benefit from and who will contribute to the life of the school.
