We are thrilled you are considering applying to The Bement School. As Bement has responded to the current COVID pandemic, we have made two changes for the 2020-2021 application cycle (to welcome students for the 2021-2022 academic year) that are intended to ensure fairness, access, and greater convenience for applicants and their families.
An application, application fee, interview or screening, transcripts, and current teacher recommendations are required for the application. We would prefer to meet candidates and their families in person, and we are hopefully that pandemic conditions will improve to the point that this will once again be possible. For the present time, however, we invite families to schedule virtual interviews/screenings via Zoom or Skype with our office, beginning in September. In addition, we understand that arranging for testing is more challenging at this time Students are welcome to submit SSAT scores or the report from a WISC evaluation, but they will not be required.
Day student applicants should submit applications by February 1. Subsequent to that date, applications will be considered on a rolling basis dependent on space availability. Applicants who meet the February 1 deadline will receive notification of admission decisions on or by March 10.
Boarding applicants are considered on a rolling basis. International applicants who would like to be considered in the first round of decisions should complete their applications by December 15. Subsequent to that date, international boarding student applications will be considered on a rolling basis dependent on space availability. All applicants interested in boarding must submit an application and application fee prior to scheduling an interview.
The Admission Committee looks for students who will benefit from and who will contribute to the life of the school.
We are happy to help you with the application process. Call the admission office at 413-774-4209 or email admit@bement with any questions.
The Bement School uses the Standard Application Online (SAO). To learn more about using the SAO and begin your application, click here.
