After School

Bement provides after-school care for lower schoolers from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and for lower and upper school students from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

During the hour between the dismissal times for the lower and upper schoolers, children may participate in teacher-supervised programs. Daily options include quiet study or reading time and free play on our playground. For lower school students, the after-school program is offered from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays. (Lower school students needing to stay beyond 4:30 may attend the proctoring program in the library, described below.) This service is designed to provide a safe, productive, and fun experience when children can participate in teacher-supervised programs, including quiet study or reading and free play on our playground. The charge for the lower school after-school program is $10/day and will be billed monthly after the service has been provided. Please contact Emily Lent at elent@bement.org to sign up.

Additionally, students may sign up in advance for special programs offered on certain days each term. These special programs, including Noticing Nature, cribbage, flag football, and other offerings, are available for $120 for the term (unless otherwise noted) and are billed in full at the beginning of the term. Information and registration for fall term offerings are available here. More options will be added throughout the month of August, so check back often for updates!

After the upper school dismissal time, we offer an hour of proctored study hall. Students have access to all library resources at that time. This service provides students with a quiet, proctored study hall environment in the library from 4:30-5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Bement charges $15 per hour for the service, prorated for the amount of time a student attends. Charges are billed after the service has been provided. To sign up for proctored study hall, please contact Toni Costa at tcosta@bement.org or 413-773-5967.
