Overview
Good basketball starts with defense and intensity. All the coaches at Bement focus on these vital aspects of the game through footwork and intelligent positioning. With varsity and junior varsity teams, there is a wide variety of skill and experience on the court. Our practice and home game courts are at Deerfield Academy. Like many of our other varsity sports, we often play up against high schools in the area.

Coaches

Matthew Plager
Head CoachMatt Plager has been a part of the Bement community since he started kindergarten in 2002. After graduating in 2012, Mr. Pager attended the Academy at Charlemont and the University of Vermont, where he majored in both Economics and Philosophy. He has worked as a camp counselor and lifeguard for the Bement summer program. In his free time, Mr. Plager enjoys hiking around the Pioneer Valley, playing piano, or watching whatever sport is being shown.
