Overview
Golf is truly a lifelong sport. It is a game of continuous work, humility, and mastery. Whether you are just beginning, or you are number one on the ladder, the Bement golf program strives to be inclusive, fun, and challenging. As a co-ed sport, all golfers receive a mix of group and individual instruction and our top six players compete in matches against other schools. Currently, the Greenfield Country Club is our home course, where students use a combination of the driving range, the practice green, and playing rounds to learn the rules and hone their skills with the goal of playing in and excelling in matches. The golfers work with their Bement coaches, but also receive assistance from a club pro. We compete with Deerfield Academy, Northfield Mount Hermon, Eagle Hill, MacDuffie, Rectory, and Williston.

Rachael Carter
Before joining the Bement faculty in 2020, Rachael Carter worked as a fourth grade teacher in public and independent schools in the New York City and Boston areas. Ms. Carter now enjoys working with middle school students, as she loves to facilitate engaging conversations, discussions, and debates, and inspire a love of reading and writing in her students by showing off how fun and creative English class can be! Ms. Carter also coaches the golf team and helps facilitate both the GSA and Creative Writing Club. Ms. Carter and her partner, Ms. Young, serve as dorm parents in Jackson 1 and enjoy living on campus all year round. In her free time, Ms. Carter can be found enjoying live music all across New England, discovering the best iced lattes in town, playing golf, hanging out at the lake or by the beach, or reading a good book.
