Full-Time Drama Teacher 2017-2018
 

The Bement School, a K-9 day and boarding school in the charming, historic village of Deerfield, is looking for an experienced educator to join students and faculty from all over the region and the world. The Bement School intentionally fosters a community where members of diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, nationalities, and perspectives actively share and grow together in a truly holistic learning environment. Candidates ready to embrace our uniquely diverse population should be:

- collaborative, motivated, dedicated educators

- knowledgeable about directing, drama history, movement and dance, improvisation, and set-design

- experienced working with a wide range of elementary and middle school students, and be able to design age-appropriate activities and productions

- flexible, with a sense of humor and joy in working with children

- skillful writers and communicators

- committed to individual and professional growth working with a team of committed arts educators

- eager to cultivate relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
 

Candidates will be responsible for all aspects of multiple small productions each term and a final large production. The successful candidate will embrace change, demonstrate flexibility, and balance the heritage and foundation of the past with the possibility for the future. The school is currently undertaking a full review of curriculum and pedagogy, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the school’s trajectory for years to come. Willingness to live and work as part of a boarding community is preferred.
