Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children
As part of the application
process, the admission committee asks that all applicants to
grades 3 through 9 submit the results of a Wechsler
Intelligence Scale for Children, fourth edition. Usually a
school-based learning specialist or an educational
psychologist administers the WISC-IV. It is given one-on-one
and takes about 90 minutes; the written report, including an
interpretation of the subtest scores, arrives to the school
within a few weeks. Families make private arrangements for
the WISC-IV and may use anyone of their choosing. For your
convenience we have listed the names of some local WISC
administrators; however, it is not our intention to limit
you to the names on this list. PRIVATE
The admission office uses
the results from the test to better understand each child’s
learning profile. We forward this information to our faculty
in order for them to better serve the unique learning style
your child presents. We encourage you to speak with the
administrator to better understand your child’s strengths
and weaknesses.
