International Boarding

The Bement School provides an authentic American experience for our international students and a starting point for secondary and post-secondary education. Many families choose Bement for their children because it is the best preparation for rigorous secondary boarding schools in the United States. International students hail from all over the world, and recent international graduates have continued on to Deerfield Academy, Phillips Exeter, Phillips Andover, St. Paul's, Taft, Choate Rosemary Hall, and Northfield Mount Hermon, among others.

Our academic and boarding programs are specifically designed to give international students the skills and knowledge to succeed in fast-paced American classrooms. Through creative, interdisciplinary lessons, we develop students who are critical thinkers ready to engage with challenging curriculum—from interpreting Shakespeare to using engineering and math skills to solve real life problems. English Language Learning (ELL) classes are available for students who need to improve their English proficiency.

Boarding at Bement elevates our international students’ education, providing a structured place to study and an opportunity to explore our unique setting. We introduce our boarding students to new activities, and they make close friendships with their American peers, who host them in their homes on weekends and during mini-breaks. Many of our international families build lifelong relationships with our local families. Our entire Bement community supports international students living far from home, providing a nurturing place to grow, learn, and thrive.

Study in the States is a resource for all international students who do not hold a U.S. Passport. You can find information about studying in the U.S. and information on student visas.
