Here is an exciting look at our summer programs! The Bement
School offers a variety of summer programming for both local
students and international students.
Our Adventure Day Camp
provides campers ages 5-11 with a fun-filled day of
organized games, crafts, swimming, singing, and trips to
nearby attractions. We offer four two-week session beginning
on June 23, 2008. Camp runs a full day beginning at 8:30 and
ending at 3:30 with optional extended-day available.
Registration begins March 3rd- there is limited enrollment,
so register early.
Our NEW Preschool Program
for children ages 15 months through 4 years old. Perhaps your little one has an older sibling
attending camp or maybe they’re headed to preschool in the
fall. In any event, this day camp experience promotes social
and emotional growth as well as learning through play and
planned age-appropriate activities.
The Enrichment Programs will
continue their role as they did last summer. Both
Adventurers and Junior Adventurers have the option to sign
up for one morning Enrichment Program during each session.
We have already arranged courses like Modern Dance, Campus
Mural Design, Noticing Nature, and Baking. Please continue
to check our website, as we will be working to add new
Enrichment Program offerings.
We also offer an academic program to students from around
the world. The Bement School’s English as
a Second Language Summer Program balances the importance
of learning the English language with an exposure to our
American culture. This three week program for middle
school-aged girls and boys focuses on the fundamental skills
of speaking, listening, reading, and writing English. Our
faculty find ways to teach both language skills and
community values while developing close relationships with
the students. Similarly, students find the unique
opportunity to immerse themselves in a program that develops
their individual skills and confidence. One of our program
highlights is our homestay weekend. Each of our
international students spends a weekend with a local Bement
family.
A unique component of The Bement School’s summer programming
is our location. Located on our beautiful campus in Historic
Deerfield, MA, parents enjoy peace of mind knowing their
children are in a safe and caring environment. Additionally,
we are committed to merging our summer programming,
therefore affording our international students the
opportunity to integrate with our day campers. This is an
unforgettable experience for everyone.
In addition to on-campus programs, several faculty members
offer summer tutoring. Math tutoring.
We hope to see you this summer. If you have any questions or
wish to be on our mailing list, please call or write us. We
look forward to hearing from you!
