Bement
values diversity. Students and families come from different
cultures, geographic locations and economic situations. We
understand the cost of attending Bement can be a challenge
and we actively seek opportunities to make our program affordable.
Our Board of Trustees sets aside funds to assist every family
that demonstrates a financial need. If you have additional
questions, please contact our
Admission Office.
Bement offers financial aid based on the demonstrated financial
need of the family. Our school does not offer merit awards
based on academic, athletic, or other talents demonstrated
by the student. For the 2004-2005 school year Bement awarded
$302,000 to 26% of the student body. For day students these
awards ranged from $500 to $8,500. Boarding students received
somewhat higher awards.
If you have questions regarding the application process or
timetable, please call
Ken Cuddeback in the Business Office
or
Jackie Thomas in the Admission Office.
You may also review our Financial Aid Policy
here. The Bement School does
not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion,
sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, age, or gender
in its financial aid policies. Any questions in this regard
should be directed to the
Head of School.
- All applicants must complete the Parents' Financial Statement
(PFS) and send it to the School and Student Service for
Financial Aid (SSS) in Princeton, NJ. Send a photo copy
of this form to The Bement School's Business Office. SSS
charges $20 for the first agency or school recipient you
list and $12 for each additional report.
- All applicants must send copies of their 2004 IRS 1040
tax returns (including all schedules) and W-2 forms to Bement's
Business Office
- In cases of separation, divorce, or parents who have
never been married, an additional form is required. This
form is to be completed by the non-custodial parent or the
natural parent who did not complete the PFS. Send this form
directly to Bement' s Business Office, accompanied by that
parent's 2004 IRS 1040 tax return and W-2 form. Both natural
parents are required to apply for financial aid.
- In order to receive due consideration, it is important
that you complete the financial aid process on time. Since
the total demonstrated need of our applicants exceeds Bement's
financial aid budget, our funds can be depleted quickly.
Knowing the total need by the time of our first meeting
helps us distribute the awards in an equitable manner. No
family receives 100% of demonstrated need. In fact, most
families receive about 60% to 70% of demonstrated need
