CINNAMON SUNDAY
On the sunlit, golden morning of October 21, 2007, the
Bement School Alumni Association hosted Cinnamon Sunday
– a reunion for the classes of 1970 – 1990. More than sixty
alumni/ae, faculty, and families returned to enjoy a
fabulous brunch which, of course, included cinnamon buns.
Laughter and squeals of delight filled the air as everyone
reconnected with friends that they haven’t seen in years,
some as long as thirty-seven years.
After brunch everyone laughed and reminisced while watching
one of Tim Young’s slide shows, which included pictures of
alumni/ae from their time as students at Bement. The
current head of school, Shelley Jackson, moderated questions
and answers about Bement today. Much has stayed the same at
the school, yet much has changed. Picture taking and campus
tours of new and old buildings framed the visiting. The day
ended in the library, located in the Polk Building, where
Miss Hawks and Marianne Bourbeau were presented with
mementos by alumni/ae.
“What a wonderful event. I was so delighted to
see so many alums reconnecting with classmates and their
teachers and the faculty being able to reconnect with each
other as well. I know for myself personally being with
classmates whom I'd not seen since graduation was awesome.”

Thank you to all who attended and made this a very special
day. A special thank you is extended to the Bement School
Alumni Association board members and class agents who worked
so hard to put this day together.
Julie Rowland'80 also snapped some pictures and has been
kind enough to
post them online.
