Fine Arts: Computer Arts

The eighth grade computer course begins with an exploration of children's book design. Students choose a fable to rewrite as the basis of their book. Classes include writing and revising the text, learning basic design principles, creating thumbnail sketches for the sequencing of the book, painting papers for use in collage illustration, transforming sketches of main characters into collage illustrations, and learning how to use iBook Author to design the book itself. The final book is in digital form and becomes a part of the Bement library.
