Featured Programs: After School Program

Bement provides after school care for lower schoolers from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and for lower and upper school students from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Bement has after school care available in all grades, Monday through Thursday, for one hour after the end of the school day. On Fridays there is after school proctoring available in the library until 5:30 p.m.

The lower school provides an hour-long, teacher-supervised, after school program Mondays through Thursdays. It begins when lower school is dismissed at 3:30 p.m. and runs until upper school dismissal at 4:30 p.m. Children in the after school program may play outside or may go to the library for study hall. Lower school families who need later care may also sign their child up to join the upper school hour from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for an additional fee.

The upper school after school program offers a quiet, safe, proctored study hall which runs from 4:30 to 5:30, Monday through Thursday, and 3:30-5:30 Friday. Students have access to all library resources at that time and a snack (usually fresh fruit) is also provided.

Please contact Toni Costa to sign up for after school care by calling 413.773.5967 or emailing tcosta@bement.org. Parents may also call the school on any given day if they need after school care for that same day. In this case, please call the main number at 413.774.7061 to make the arrangement.

Other after school options may be available and will be posted in the weekly Look Ahead. Students often participate in Noticing Nature, music lessons, academic tutoring, and other varied programs.
